Like Abel whispering lullabies to Cain, the music of Hawk and Dove is tenderness before the fury. After discovering his voice as a songwriter, Elijah Miller left his life as a Union Organizer and called upon guitarist John Kleber to help craft his sound. The two soon met Stephanie Sanders, an accomplished pianist who had recently thrown picked up a bass guitar. In late November of 2008, Hawk and Dove forged an anchor with veteran New York drummer Dave Butler. On their Debut EP, Rocking Chair, the lovely violin of Rachel Lyon joined Sanders' melodic lines to navigate the tempest of Kleber' guitar. Upon Lyon's departure in 2009 the band welcomed violinist and multi-instrumentalist Eleanor Whitmore to complete the quintet.

From Piano's and the Cake Shop in Manhattan, to Union Hall and The Bell House in Brooklyn, Hawk and Dove continue to play regularly in New York City's most distinguished venues. They have headlined several benefit concerts including 2008's Groinstrong-a-Thong for Skin Cancer Awareness, and the 2009 Brooklyn Greenway Initiative
They are currently working on a rock opera.
